Understanding Tile Color Variations
Photos are a guide, not a guarantee. Screen settings, lighting, and natural variation can shift perception. For the most reliable preview, order a sample kit and review our notes on Color Variations. Eligible orders can use our Sample Credit.
High-quality wood-look tiles use multiple faces (often 8–16) to reduce repeats. In large rooms you may still see some repetition, so mix boxes, rotate pieces, and stagger joints for a more natural look. See layout tips in Installation & Care and feel free to request a design consultation with side-by-side mockups.
“Dye lot variation” = slight tone differences between production batches. It’s normal for ceramic/porcelain manufacturing. We aim to ship from a single batch when possible; please order enough at once, inspect before installation, and keep a few spares. Learn more in Color Variations or contact us if you’re mixing lots.
It’s not recommended. Even small dye-lot differences can become noticeable once installed. Order enough from the same batch up front and keep a few spares. If you must phase the project, contact us early—we may be able to reserve matching stock. Also review Color Variations for what’s considered normal.
1) Buy once: order your full quantity in a single purchase. 2) Verify lots: check boxes on arrival to confirm the same lot; report issues promptly. 3) Plan waste: add ~10–15% for cuts/patterns. 4) Preview first: request samples and review in your room’s lighting.
Yes — we offer curated sample kits to help you preview color, texture, and finish.
Please note that We always match your order to the latest lot available — but minor variation is still possible.
That’s why we recommend ordering all tiles at once, and always reviewing samples in natural light.
We recommend ordering 10–15% extra tiles for layout and backup.
Lighting temperature, wall colors, and time of day change how tones read (e.g., warm light shifts beige warmer; cool daylight brings out grays). Always test samples in the actual space before committing, and inspect on arrival before installation.
