Installation FAQs

Do I need underlayment when installing SPC or LVT flooring?

Many SPC and LVT products include a pre-attached pad. If yours doesn’t, an approved underlayment can improve sound absorption, help with minor subfloor unevenness, and add comfort. Avoid “double-padding” (extra foam under a product that already has a pad) and always follow the product’s instructions—especially for moisture/vapor barriers over concrete slabs. For step-by-step guidance, see Installation & Care or contact us.

Do I need spacers or expansion gaps when installing tile?

Yes. Use plastic spacers to keep consistent grout joints (typical ranges: ~1/8″–3/16″ for pressed tiles; some rectified tiles may allow ~1/16″—check the product page). Also leave a perimeter movement gap at walls/columns and use a flexible sealant or profile at transitions. Proper joints help prevent lippage, cracking, and tenting over time. For setup tips, see Installation & Care.

Do you provide layout or pattern suggestions for installation?

Yes—our team can suggest layouts like brick (running bond), stacked, herringbone, and more. Upload your room photo via a free design consultation for tailored advice, use the Flooring Area Calculator to plan quantities, and preview looks with the AR Visualizer. You can also order samples to confirm color/texture before installation.

Maintenance FAQs

How do I clean SPC, LVT, or tile floors?

  • Use a damp mop with a pH-neutral cleaner.
  • Avoid bleach, oil soaps, waxes/polishes, abrasive pads, and solvent cleaners.
  • For tile, clean grout lines regularly; place entry mats and wipe spills quickly.

See routine care tips in Installation & Care.

Do I need to wax or polish these floors?

No waxing or polishing needed. SPC/LVT have a factory UV-cured wear layer; porcelain tile maintains its finish naturally. Stick to pH-neutral cleaning—no wax required. For best results, follow Installation & Care.
